Filmed at one of the picnic sites just outside Paul Kruger Gate, by one of the caretakers named Organ Sabiepark, it shows a clash between a Sparrowhawk and a Jacobin Cuckoo.
The caretaker says, “It was the first time I’ve seen an eagle killing anything. I was working in the picnic site, as usual, when I heard a noise coming from nearby.

“I started looking around and saw the sparrowhawk strangling a Jacobin Cuckoo,” with the caretaker admitting he felt sad about what was happening.
“The sparrowhawk was biting the Jacobin Cuckoo and trying to kill it, all while the cuckoo was fighting for its life.”
Described as an aggressive, moderate-sized bird of prey that predominantly feeds on birds such as pigeons and doves, Birding.Kruger estimates about "1 000 pairs of Little Sparrowhawk can be found in north-eastern South Africa".
But the ending turns out a lot better than you'd expect. According to the caretaker, it’s the fact that he gets to spend his entire day with animals that makes him realise he has the best job in the world.
