Cape Town - Travel to Africa is a growing trend for 2017, with countries like Kenya, Botswana, Namibia, South Africa, Senegal, Morocco and more named on a number of prestigious travel sites and authorities.

Business travel on the continent is also on the rise. Significant findings of new research released by the global travel technology provider Sabre indicates that African air travel spend is expected to rise 24% with the introduction of the pan-African passport in 2018.

The new passport will enable African travellers to visit other countries on the continent without a visa.
Many African countries are gearing up for a BOOM in anticipation the pan-African passport, and a lot of the expansion is rewarded not only by business travellers and African travellers, but by many foreigner visitors from other continents heading into Africa for the ultimate tourist experience.

The Silo, Cape Town, South Africa
Built in a historic grain silo complex above the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (MOCAA), The Silo is set to be part of a new 'symbol of Africa' in Cape Town.
The ultramodern, industrial-style hotel will have only 28 rooms, each with whimsical interiors and dramatic waterfront views.
The hotel, part of The Royal Portfolio hotel collection, will also have a restaurant overlooking Table Mountain, a spa, and a rooftop pool and lounge.

Pinnon Safari Lodge, Kafue National Park, Zambia
May 2017 will see the official launch of Pinnon Safari Lodge, an independently owned and managed safari lodge located in the Kafue National Park, Zambia.
Situated on the banks of the Kafue River and surrounded by the most stunning variety of birds and wildlife, Pinnon Lodges hope to offer tourists an authentically wild safari experience.

Hilton Garden Inn hotel, Mbabane, Swaziland
Hilton Worldwide has announced the signing of a management agreement with the Swaziland Public Service Pensions Fund to open a Hilton Garden Inn hotel in Mbabane, Swaziland.
The newly built 130-room-hotel will be located in the centre of Mbabane, the administrative capital and largest city in Swaziland.
Located on Mhlambanyatsi Road, the main arterial route serving the city centre, the hotel will be situated in the CBD and ideally positioned for local and international travellers.

The Alba, Nairobi, Kenya
Best Western Hotels & Resorts is adding another hotel to its East African portfolio. The newest addition is BW Premier Collection - The Alba, located in Nairobi, Kenya.

BON Hotels, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
African hospitality company BON Hotels has added another property to its growing portfolio. BON Hotel Addis Ababa, situated in Ethiopia, is under construction and will open its doors to the public in the first quarter of 2017.
Located just ten minutes from Addis Ababa Bole International Airport and the city centre, BON Hotel Addis Ababa will be an exciting option for the corporate, leisure and conference traveller.

Six Senses Zil Pasyon, Seychelles
Located on the secluded granite-rock island of Félicité, this chic retreat is the last word in luxury.
Each of its 28 standalone villas is outfitted with a private pool and wine cellar and comes with a 24-hour personal butler.
But all this comfort won't cost you your conscience: the resort is also eco-friendly.
It has a reverse-osmosis refinery for potable water, a chicken farm and an organic garden to increase sustainability.

Marriott Hotel, Kigali, Rwanda
Marriott International has opened the doors of its first Marriott Hotel in Rwanda, bringing the signature brand’s welcoming service and world-class amenities to sub-Saharan Africa for the first time in its nearly 90-year history.
The 254-room Marriott in Kigali, Rwanda’s capital city, is creating approximately 500 jobs and will be among the country’s biggest and most luxurious properties, further enhancing Kigali’s reputation as a hub for conferences and conventions.

Wilderness Safaris Bisate Lodge, near Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda
Wilderness Safaris Bisate Lodge, situated next to Rwanda’s renowned Volcanoes National Park, is on track to open for guests in June 2017.
Comprising just six forest villas, Bisate Lodge will offer a luxurious base from which to enjoy an extraordinary gorilla conservation experience and a holistic exploration of this beautiful region.

Marriott Sheraton Annaba, Annaba, Algeria
Marriott International has further expanded in Algeria with the opening of its seventh hotel in the country, Sheraton Annaba.
The company already operates six hotels in Algeria including Constantine Marriott Hotel, Renaissance Tlemcen Hotel, Sheraton Club des Pins, Sheraton Oran, Le Meridien Oran and Four Points by Sheraton Oran amounting to 1 580 rooms in the country.
With another six hotels under development, the company is set to double its footprint in the country.

Banyan Tree, Tamouda Bay, Morocco
Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts will open Banyan Tree Tamouda Bay in September, the first Banyan Tree property on the Mediterranean coast, and the first all-pool villa resort in Morocco.
Located on the northeast coast of Morocco in Tamouda Bay, the resort is a 20-minute drive from the charming city of Tetouan, and international visitors can arrive via Casablanca, Rabat and Tangier.

Anantara, North Africa
Minor Hotel Group has announced a partnership with Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company to develop two new Anantara resorts in North Africa, to open in 2017.
Anantara Tozeur Resort is a new luxury escape being developed by Qatari Diar in the south-west of Tunisia, in the city of Tozeur.
Also under development is Anantara Al Houara Tangier Resort in northern Morocco.

Club Med, Petite Côte, Senegal
Club Med has announced its second resort in Senegal, which will be open to public from 2017.
With 358 rooms and suites totalling 860 beds, the new four-star development will sit on the stunning stretch of coast in Western Africa known as the Petite Côte, staying true to Club Med’s positioning as a family-orientated, all-inclusive premium holiday provider.
It will sit as a four-star resort within the Club Med Trident rating, with integrated five-star luxury space for holidaymakers looking for added luxury.
