Cape Town - Easter is the perfect time to see a bit more of the gorgeous city of Port Elizabeth.

Easy mornings - Start the day at the Wedgewood Family Market and indulge in home-made goodness and fine quality treats.

Surfs up: Make your way down to Kings Beach for the 2016 LSA Surf National Championships on 17 March. If you aren’t a surfer already – be prepared to be inspired and fall in love with the sea all over again. 

Water fun - 25 - 28 March - If you’re in the mood for a fun pool party – go and check out Splash Fest happening a Hobie Beach for beach dancing, and mingling.

Seaside safety expo - 17 to 20 March – Check out the lifesavers in ultimate action at the Lifesaving SA Championships at King Beach Lifesaving club. Beach safety is always a key element on our travels and why not witness how to do it firsthand from the pros.

Glow in the dark party - Friday 18 March – If you are under 18, go and check out the Glow in the Dark Party at the Police Fields / Kemsley Park. Bring your lumo outfits and neon colours and party the night away. Gates open at 4 pm and the party ends at 11pm.

Stand up Paddle Board fun race - 20 March - Get wet and wild at the Stand Up Paddleboard Ocean Series Race 9 happening at Hobie Beach.

Entry is free but everyone who would like to participate in that particular Sunday paddle to please contact Mia via email info@gosupsurf.co.za or WhatsApp message on 072 271 1212 that you will be attending at least 24 hours prior to the race. The race is 3.1km long. 

Movers and shakers - 26 March – Get moving and shaking with some evening entertainment with Lianie May performing at Die Train Sports Bar on Beach Road on Kings Beach. Get your dance shoes ready and party outfits pressed for a  jol.

Vintage fair - 21 March - The Little Vintage Fayre – Ease into the weekend with a walk through the vintage wares.

Family Paint Balling - 27 March - There is a fun Easter paintballing adventure happening for those not so keen on finding the Easter bunny and cooing over baby chicks. The theme of the events is: Operation Still Shade.

It is a fictional story format where a mystery device is hidden, which contains all the identities of undercover CIA agents who have been taken hostage. Go and take on this challenge with the kids for a winning experience.

Disco kings and queens - 25 March – Kick it back to the 70’s and get groovy at the Die Train in Summerstrand for the Easter Disco Party. There will be disco balls, bell bottoms and epic afros.

Sporting about - 24 - 28 March - If you’re a sports fan, make your way down to the Easter Hockey Tour happening at William Pescod Hockey Club. Go and support our local sports and even take part in all of the action. 

Panda House – Enjoy some of the most delicious Chinese food at the trendy Panda House at Kings Court Shopping Centre Walmer Heights. Don’t be put off by eating in a shopping mall – the food is really worth the stop off.

Wine and dine - Indulge in some chart stopping craft beer at the Bridge Street Brewery. They have tasty pizza, burgers and bar snacks. 

Cycle fun - Get out and about with your bicycle and cycle up the Bridge Street Valley. Travellers can enjoy a relaxed evening ride and a quick beer at one of the nearby bars afterwards. Depart from Bridgestreet Brewery and head up into the Baakens Valley and back. 


Dino expo for the kids - Treat the little ones to some old world fun at the Dino Expo happening every Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Walmer Expo until 10 April. Expect a fun Jurassic Park experience, fossil digging, dino rides and waterslide fun. Bring your walking shoes, fun hat and bathing costumes for a fun time.

Off to the races - Head off to the races on 25 March for a thrilling charity horse race held at Fairview Racecourse. There will be 8 races, which will start at 12:30pm till around 17:30pm. You can bet, dine, and enjoy a day out in the sun with your best mates.
