Cape Town also ranked in second place on National Geographic's list of Top Beaches Cities around the world. The highly acclaimed mag praised Cape Town for its array of stunning, diverse beaches, mentioning the Clifton beaches in particular.

NatGeo praised the Clifton beaches for their "stellar sunset-viewing, which are sheltered from the region’s strong trade winds by a mountainous ridge".

Beaches like Bloubergstrand were also praised by NatGeo for their perfect surfing conditions, while other beaches, like those at False Bay, were mentioned for their tidal rock-pools, which are perfect for families with little ones.

On a global scale in the Tripadvisor Traveller's Choice Awards, the SA beaches excelled too. Camp's Bay beach is listed as the 11th best beach in the world on the 2015 listing.
